Intensive participation at SIAL 2024 with support from four SIPPO teams

SIPPO Colombia, Morocco, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Ukraine supported BSOs at SIAL in Paris, the leading event in the agri-food sector and a laboratory for great ideas.

SIAL 2024 with 4 SIPPO countries

With unique coffee, exotic fruit and superfood products, 13 Colombian companies attracted the attention of European markets. Together with Procolombia, SIPPO helped companies such as Pulpafruit S.A.S. and Juancamole to enter these markets and consolidate their success. They also presented Turbana Foods, Plantar Company, Descafecol, Colcafé, Mapy, Del Alba and La Soberana. In addition to coffee, exotic fruits and superfoods, these companies also showcased the growing healthy snacks sector, which attracted considerable attention from European buyers.

To maximise their success at SIAL, the Colombian companies were well prepared through a pre-fair workshop with ProColombia and SIPPO, led by our consultant Gustavo Ferro.

Research for a case study on Colombian exports to Switzerland
SIPPO Colombia continued to document the "Ruta de Internacionalización". Under this project title, SIPPO and Procolombia are currently preparing a case study on Colombian companies exporting to Switzerland in the food sector. SIAL has provided an ideal framework for matchmaking between Colombian and Swiss companies, thus strengthening our joint potential. Given that Switzerland is one of the world's largest importers of ingredients for the food and beverage industry, this market represents a promising opportunity for Colombian exports.

Colombia, one of the world's food resources
According to the FAO, Colombia will be one of the world's food resources to meet the needs of a population that will reach 10 billion by 2050. Now is the time for Colombian entrepreneurs to export, grow and seize these opportunities with a focus on sustainability, innovation and cooperation!

14 Moroccan exporters supported by SIPPO Morocco, ASMEX and IBD
14 Moroccan exporters participated in SIAL for the first time, benefiting from dedicated support to enhance their competitiveness and maximise their impact with international buyers. This support, coordinated by ASMEX with the support and cooperation of SIPPO and IPD, included preparatory workshops to ensure that Moroccan companies were well prepared to effectively present their products and meet European market standards.

Exporters presented new lines of dietary products focusing on nutrition and health, as well as nostalgic products, which attracted strong interest from companies in Europe, particularly the Netherlands, Spain, France and Germany. SIPPO facilitated networking sessions and matchmaking with potential partners and buyers, enabling first-time exporters to make strategic contacts and explore new business opportunities.

In addition, Moroccan BSOs used the event to strengthen their international networks and held important meetings with their counterparts from Latin America, including Colombia, Peru, Mexico and Sri Lanka, paving the way for future international cooperation.

SIPPO Ukraine: Gathering experience
For SIPPO Ukraine, this first participation in a trade fair since becoming a member of the SIPPO network was an opportunity to meet with colleagues from SIPPO, Mary Amalia Vásquez Murillo from Colombia and Boris Tadic from Bosnia, and to gather many ideas on how to strengthen the capacity of BSOs to create the conditions for their members to work as effectively as possible at the fair.
